Coach’s Comments:  "Josci is an athletic hitter who adds a dominant presence to our offense and defense with her powerful attack and blocking abilities. She is a very coachable player who has passion for the game, and has the ability to read defenses and hit a variety of sets. Josci is a strong competitor and brought that mentality to our team and play on the court her freshman season. With the experience from her freshman season and strong spring training, we look for her to be even more confident and aggressive her sophomore season and have an even larger impact in our program."
 
2024 (Freshman): Played in 121 sets... recorded 367 kills at 3.03 kills per set, a .255 hitting percentage, 59 digs, and 32 blocks...Named Second Team All-District and KJCCC First Team All-Conference.
 
Before Cowley: Prepped at Maize High School, where she played four seasons of volleyball. In her senior season, she led her team to the Kansas 6A State Tournament and a Kansas 6A Sub-State Championship while recording 272 kills at 2.9 kills per set, 59 digs, and 26 blocks. For her efforts, she was named AVCTL DI Honorable Mention and was also named to the Thunderbird All-Star Volleyball match. In her junior season, she totaled 170 kills at 2.0 kills per set, 67 digs, and 15 blocks. Off the court, Buckley also competed in swimming for four years, where she led her team to the Kansas 6A State Tournament from 2022 to 2024. She was also named team captain for the swim team her senior season. Buckley also competed for the volleyball club One Volleyball Academy (OneVA) to enhance her volleyball skills in preparation for college play. In academics, she was honored with the Maize High School academic letter and was named a Shocker Honors Scholar.

Lady Tiger volleyball team to put 81-match win streak on the line in upcoming season

Entering the program’s 50th season, high expectations are in store for the Cowley College volleyball program. The team is coming off a very successful 2024 season that resulted in back-to-back undefeated NJCAA National Tournament National Championships, a Plains District Championship, a 41-0 overall record with a 10-0 conference record, and continued the longest consecutive win streak at 81 consecutive matches won.
