Bio
Coach's Comment: Dani is an intelligent libero/defensive specialist who can read the ball well, has the speed to get to where she needs to go, is not afraid to take a hard shot from any hitter, and has the skills that allow her to provide a quality pass to our setters on serve receive. Combined with these great skills she has an excellent serve that is also part of our philosophy in serving aggressive,She is very familiar with our program, with her being from Arkansas City, our style of play and some of our players which will help her greatly as she adjusts to the college game.
Before Cowley: Prepped at Dexter High School where she played three seasons of volleyball. Smith also improved her training while playing for One Volleyball Academy where she won numerous championships with the program. In 2019, she was invited to participate, along with players from all over the country, in the NoKaOi Volleyball tournament in Honolulu, Hawaii. Her team won the championship without losing a match in the tournament.

News mentions
After a rough start to the conference season, the Cowley College volleyball team continues to turn things around as the Lady Tigers picked up their fourth straight win with a 25-16, 25-22, 16-25, 25-23 win over No. 10-ranked Neosho County Thursday inside W.S. Scott Auditorium.
Entering the program’s 44th season for the Cowley College volleyball program, high expectations are in store for the program. The team is coming off of a 2019 season that saw them finish with a record of 31-6 overall and a 7-3 record in the Jayhawk Conference Eastern Division. The team also stayed in the top 10 in the NJCAA national rankings most of the season and rose as high as number four in the national rankings for a pair of weeks.
