Bio
Coach's Comments: Gracie is a great fit for Cowley College and for our program. We saw her in action and immediately were impressed with her athleticism, setting technique, court awareness, and discipline. She has great leaping ability, athleticism, quickness, consistency, and aggressiveness that we look for in a setter to run our offensive system. She is left handed, which combined with these qualities makes her a very talented setter that will cause problems for our opponents.
Before Cowley: Prepped at Holliday High School in Holliday, Texas where she played for four seasons. In her career, she led her team to the playoffs all four of her years and reached the Regional Quaterfinals, won the District Championship, won the Bi-District Championships, and won the Area Championships in both her freshmen and junior years. In her junior year she was named MVP server and in her senior year she was named All-State, First Team All-District, and TRN (regional area) volleyball player of the week. Her senior year, she totaled 204 kills, 630 assists, 548 digs, 65 blocks, and 47 aces. Off the court, she also competed in track where she participated in the high jump. She was a regional qualifier in the high jump her junior year while also leading them to District Championships that year. She was also successful in the classroom by being named Academic All-District all four years and was named Academic All-State her senior year.

Headlined by Setter and Freshman of the Year honors for Gracie Story, the Cowley College volleyball team saw three members earn Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference regular season honors and four players named All-District, as announced on Wednesday.
In what was an up and down season for the Cowley College volleyball team, the Lady Tigers had their season come to an end with a 13-25, 25-22, 26-28, 23-25 loss to Neosho County in the first round of the District B Tournament played Friday in Highland, KS.
Playing its final regular season match Monday inside W.S. Scott Auditorium, the Cowley College volleyball team gave No. 4-ranked Johnson County all they could handle in a 19-25, 25-17, 25-21, 22-25, 13-15 home loss.
Playing on the road at last-place Labette Community College on Thursday, the Cowley College volleyball team found the competition to be a little harder than they anticipated in the 23-25, 25-13, 25-18, 25-22 win.
The Cowley College volleyball team defeated Coffeyville Community College and Metropolitan Community College for the second time this season Monday in Coffeyville. The Lady Tigers opened with a 25-22, 17-25, 25-16, 25-29 win over Coffeyville before defeating Metropolitan 25-12, 25-18, 25-19.
Getting a small reprieve from a grueling schedule, the Cowley College volleyball team defeated a pair of inferior opponents Monday inside W.S. Scott Auditorium. The Lady Tigers started with a 25-21, 25-14, 25-14 victory over a winless Hesston College squad before knocking off the Friends University JV 25-15, 20-25, 25-8, 25-14.
The Cowley College volleyball team used a solid offensive attack to defeat Coffeyville Community College 25-21, 25-23, 25-22 Saturday afternoon inside W.S. Scott Auditorium. The Lady Tigers had lost seven straight matches against Coffeyville dating back to the 2015 season.
Having avenged earlier season losses against each of its previous two opponents, the Cowley College volleyball team was unable to make it three opponents in a row as they lost 19-25, 15-25, 16-25 at Kansas City Kansas Community College on Thursday. The Lady Tigers bounced back to defeat Metropolitan Community College 25-21, 25-12, 25-10 later that evening.

Facing an Allen Community College squad that they are chasing in the standings, the Cowley College volleyball team rallied from a two sets to one deficit to knock off the Lady Red Devils 19-25, 25-17, 25-27, 25-23, 15-13 Saturday in Iola, KS.

Continuing its tough, early season schedule, the No. 15-ranked Cowley College volleyball team dropped its second straight road match Monday at Cloud County by a score of 15-25, 21-25, 25-23, 23-25.
Returning home after a disappointing loss at Fort Scott to open the season, the No. 3-ranked Cowley College volleyball team earned a pair of wins over Allen Community College and Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College Thursday inside W.S. Scott Auditorium.
For the second straight season, the No. 3-ranked Cowley College volleyball team suffered a season-opening loss to Fort Scott Community College. This time, the Lady Tigers lost 21-25, 23-25, 23-25 Monday in Fort Scott.
Entering the program’s 44th season for the Cowley College volleyball program, high expectations are in store for the program. The team is coming off of a 2019 season that saw them finish with a record of 31-6 overall and a 7-3 record in the Jayhawk Conference Eastern Division. The team also stayed in the top 10 in the NJCAA national rankings most of the season and rose as high as number four in the national rankings for a pair of weeks.
