Bio

Coach's Comments: Katie brings a strong middle hitter presence to the team with her athleticism and excellent court vision that allows her to play strong at the net with her attacking and blocking abilities. She has the ability to do multiple things, run a variety of sets, and gives us another weapon on both offense and defense.

Before Cowley: Morrison prepped at Benton High School in Benton, Arkansas. She helped lead her team to league titles her junior and senior seasons and also, in her senior season, led her team to the Arkansas 5A State Tournament where her team finished in second place. During her career, she was named All-Conference and served as team captain for the program. Morrison started as a setter and when the need arose to change positions she embraced it and made the move to middle hitter. Off the court, she joined a training program to increase her vertical, athleticism, and technique for the switch to middle hitter. She also joined the Saline County Chaos and 501 Volleyball club volleyball programs to enhance her skills.

The Lady Tigers started with a 25-21, 25-14, 25-14 victory over a winless Hesston College squad before knocking off the Friends University JV 25-15, 20-25, 25-8, 25-14.

After a rough start to the conference season, the Cowley College volleyball team continues to turn things around as the Lady Tigers picked up their fourth straight win with a 25-16, 25-22, 16-25, 25-23 win over No. 10-ranked Neosho County Thursday inside W.S. Scott Auditorium.

Lady Tiger volleyball team eager to continue success

Entering the program’s 44th season for the Cowley College volleyball program, high expectations are in store for the program. The team is coming off of a 2019 season that saw them finish with a record of 31-6 overall and a 7-3 record in the Jayhawk Conference Eastern Division. The team also stayed in the top 10 in the NJCAA national rankings most of the season and rose as high as number four in the national rankings for a pair of weeks.
