Following a record-setting season in which the team won 15 games and advanced to its first-ever District title match, the Cowley College women's soccer team had seven players named to the all-conference list.
The Lady Tigers were led by Elsa Pelicant being named the Jayhawk Conference Western Division Defensive Player of the Year, while Cowley head coach Roberto dos Santos was named the Jayhawk Conference Western Division Coach of the Year for a second straight season.
"I am so happy for Elsa, she is a fierce competitor and is all about the team," Cowley head coach Roberto dos Santos said. "As for the Coach of the Year award it is an honor coming from my peers, but it would not be fair not to mention the work (assistant coach) Tanner Brock has done. He is a big part of this honor."
Joining Pelicant (six goals, four assists) as First Team all-conference selections were forward Natalia Lima (15 goals, nine assists) and goalkeeper Makayla Farquharson (0.79 goals against average).
Lady Tigers named to the Second Team were Leticia Belloni (nine goals), Lucia Fernandez (four goals), Marta Aranda (five goals), and defender Michaela Seahorn.
"This group of ladies bought into the program and represented Cowley extremely well," Dos Santos said. "This is well deserved recognition for all of them."
