Coach’s Comments: "Marija is an outstanding player who will bring a strong middle presence to our program with her athleticism, court awareness, court vision, and timing to our front row offense and defense. Marija is a strong and aggressive middle who puts up a solid block and can attack opponents with a variety of sets. These attributes are perfect for our style of play at Cowley. She has played high-level volleyball in Serbia, and we look for her to bring that experience and grow in the college game. We are excited to have her as a part of our program at Cowley."
2026 (Freshman): First season at Cowley.
Before Cowley: Prepped at Eighth Belgrade Gimnasium in Belgrade, Serbia. She began playing for the Volleyland Volleyball Club from 2017-2026, where she played middle hitter. In 2021, she was invited to participate in the Sports Camp Karatas (the incubator for the Serbian national team). In the 2023-24 season, she led her team to a third-place finish in the regional senior league. In 2025-26, she led her team to a second-place finish in the regional senior league.

News mentions
Last August, as the Cowley College volleyball team prepared for the 2025 season, head coach Steven Gream received an unexpected email: an invitation to speak at the 10th annual Balkan Business Forum (BBF) in Belgrade, Serbia, in May 2026. Event organizers had heard a podcast he recorded with sports psychiatrist Dr. Larry Widman about mental training and how Cowley volleyball incorporates it into its program, which led the BBF’s program director to extend the invitation.
