After three days of competition at the NJCAA Division I Women's Tennis National Championships in Tyler, TX, the No. 1-ranked Cowley College Lady Tiger tennis team remains in a tie for first place with second-ranked Hillsborough Community College from Tampa, Florida.
On Monday, Cowley advanced all six singles players and three doubles teams to Tuesday's semifinal action. The Lady Tigers have yet to drop a set and were even more dominant than the day before as they posted three singles victories and one doubles win by scores of 6-0, 6-0.
"The girls did a good job of taking care of business and advancing to the semifinals," Cowley head coach Arianna Raga said.
With only two sophomores on the roster, Arina Babenko and Mariana Jimenez, the young Tiger team will play semifinal matches on Tuesday with a chance to advance to the finals.
"Tomorrow is a new day and we will need to be ready for the challenge," Raga said.
Semifinal play will begin on Tuesday at 8 a.m.
