Cowley College sophomore Natalia Lima, the only two-time All-American in the history of the women's soccer program, recently signed a letter of intent to continue playing soccer at NCAA Division II Barry University in Miami-Dade County, Florida.
Lima came to Cowley from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and made an immediate impact on the school.
"Natalia came to Cowley and whole heartedly embraced the opportunity," Cowley head coach Roberto dos Santos said.
In 45 career games at Cowley, Lima scored 42 goals and added 19 assists. She helped the Lady Tigers win three straight conference titles and achieve a school-record 15 wins during the 2021 season.
"Natalia did a phenomenal job for us and matured so much during her three seasons at Cowley," Dos Santos said. "She has worked so hard and we are extremely proud of her."
Lima is grateful for the opportunity Cowley provided her with.
"It was hard for me to understand the culture my first year at Cowley, but I have learned so much from the coaches and the instructors," Lima said. "I just want to thank everybody that has helped me along the way."
Lima will join a Buccaneers' squad that competes in the Sunshine State Conference and finished the 2021 season with a record of 7-6-3. She plans to major in graphic design.
