Seward’s 18 three-pointers lift Lady Saints to 93-81 win

Making its first, long road trek of the season, the Cowley College women’s basketball team led after each of the first three quarters of play Saturday at Seward Community College. However, the Lady Saints regained the lead midway through the fourth quarter and never looked back in the 93-81 win.

Trailing by 12 points with four minutes left in Wednesday’s game at Cowley College, the visiting Garden City Lady Broncbusters rallied for a 71-70 road win. Aerihna Afoa’s three-pointer with 5.1 seconds remaining capped a 19-6 run to close the game and gave Garden City its first lead since the game’s opening minutes of play.

Lady Tigers’ continue dominance of NOC-Tonkawa with 86-44 win

As was the case in Wednesday’s season-opening win at Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa, the Cowley College women’s basketball team was keyed by another strong defensive effort in a 86-44 win over the Lady Mavericks Saturday inside W.S. Scott Auditorium.
