Four Tiger track and field athletes sign with NCAA Division II schools
A pair of men and two women from the Cowley College track and field teams recently signed to compete at NCAA Division II programs. Those signing were, Tiger men’s track and field athletes Sam Giles and Javyn Contreras, and Lady Tiger athletes Zinara Lesley and Megan Reynolds.

"All four have earned this opportunity," Cowley head coach Cameron Rieth said. "They have been the bed rock to what we are trying to establish here, and we will hate to see them go. They are each amazing student athletes and have been great to be around. We are excited about their future."
Tiger men's track and field athlete Sam Giles signed with Arkansas Fort Smith. Giles ran as part of the Cowley men's cross country team that placed third at the national championships. He ran personal best times of 4:40 in the mile run and 9.18 in the 3,000-meter run as a freshman at Cowley.
Contreras signed with Fort Hays State University. After running as part of the Tiger cross country team that placed third at the national championships, Contreras ran as part of the distance medley relay team that placed 11th at the 2021 indoor national championships.
Lady Tiger sophomore Zinara Lesley signed with Southeastern Oklahoma State University, while Reynolds signed with Newman University in Wichita, KS.
Lesley was recently named a Second Team All-American in the 1,000-meter run and as a member of the 4x800-meter relay team at the national indoor championships. She also earned Third Team All-American honors as a member of the distance medley relay team.
Reynolds and Lesley ran as part of the national champion Lady Tiger cross country team in the fall. Reynolds also ran as part of the distance medley relay team that earned Third Team All-American honors at the national indoor.
