Coach’s Comments: "Manu is an exciting player who brings great athleticism, a fast arm swing, and power to our team. She can read defenses and hits a variety of sets with her experience hitting from multiple positions. She is a well-rounded athlete who brings an all-around game to the court, allowing her to transition to our program easily. This will allow her to run our fast offense effectively and provide a solid defense for our program."
2025 (Freshman): First season at Cowley.
Before Cowley: Prepped at Sao Jose School in Limeira, Brazil. Manuela played volleyball for the Nosso Cluble club from 2018 until 2021. In 2018, 2019, and 2021, her team finished third place in the regional league in Sao Paulo countryside. In 2018 and twice in 2019, she was named team MVP. In 2022, she played for the Regatas volleyball club. In 2022, her team finished third place in the Sao Paulo Federation League. She was also named MVP and best hitter. In 2023, her team finished second place in the regional league in Sao Paulo and first place in the regional league in Sao Paulo countryside. She was a three-time MVP for her efforts, selected as the best outside hitter in the championship, and won the highlight of the year. She did this while being the youngest player on the team in both 2023 and again in 2024. In 2024, her team won third place in the Sao Paulo Federation League, first place in the APV League, and second place in the regional league in Sao Paulo. In 2023 and 2024, she was honored to compete against two USA college-age teams that came to Brazil to play, representing U21. She also participated in the tough Taca Parana championship. Off the volleyball court, she also participated in handball for six years, where she played the pivot position, and soccer for three years, where she played the striker position. Manuela participated in a social program that was designed to bring children from all over the city into the sports world. She was a medalist five times in the OBA (Brazilian Astronomy and Astronautics Olympiad) test and three times in the Canguru (math Olympiad) test. Before choosing Cowley, she was accepted to three Brazilian medical schools and also in manufacturing/engineering.

News mentions
Entering the program’s 50th season, high expectations are in store for the Cowley College volleyball program. The team is coming off a very successful 2024 season that resulted in back-to-back undefeated NJCAA National Tournament National Championships, a Plains District Championship, a 41-0 overall record with a 10-0 conference record, and continued the longest consecutive win streak at 81 consecutive matches won.
