Cowley volleyball announces spring scrimmage dates
The Cowley College volleyball team has released its spring schedule for 2022. The Lady Tigers will participate in four scrimmage dates on April 5, April 13, April 19 and April 23.
The Cowley College volleyball team has released its spring schedule for 2022. The Lady Tigers will participate in four scrimmage dates on April 5, April 13, April 19 and April 23.
On April 5, the team will travel to Emporia State University (NCAA DII) to play at 4 p.m., on April 13, the team will travel to Southwestern Oklahoma State (NCAA DII) to play the host team at 5 p.m. and Southern Nazarene University (NCAA DII) at 6 p.m., on April 19, the team will host Southwestern College (NAIA) at 6:30 p.m. The match is free for fans to attend at W.S. Scott Auditorium. On April 23, the team will travel to Washburn University (NCAA DII) to play the host team at 10 a.m., Newman University (NCAA DII) at 11 a.m., William Jewell University (NCAA DII) at 1 p.m., and Baker University (NAIA) at 2 p.m.
Coach Steven Gream had this to say about the spring schedule. "Coming off of a great 2021 season, we wanted to use the spring to enhance our skills for the 2022 season and these scrimmages will help us do that by playing competitive NCAA and NAIA programs. These matches will not only push us to excel at a high level but they also serve as great platforms to let those schools see our players for recruiting possibilities. We are so excited to get back on the court and compete."
Cowley returns an exciting group of players to the 2022 roster including three time All-American, KJCCC Setter and Freshman of the Year, Rossana Papa, All-American Rachele Tessari, and All-District and All-Conference performers Laci Beougher, Gyongyver Araczki, and Landry Cate. The Lady Tigers won their 14th District and KJCCC titles in 2021 and finished NJCAA DII National Runner-up.
