All-State volleyball player signs with Cowley

Cowley College head volleyball coach Steven Gream has announced the signing of Circle High School standout, Laci Beougher, to the Lady Tiger program.

Beougher, a 6-foot outside hitter, prepped at Circle High School in Towanda, Kansas where she played three seasons. She helped lead her team to a sub-state championship and a third place finish in the Kansas 4A State Championship Tournament in 2019. In her senior year, Beougher was named 4A Kansas Volleyball Association All-State Honorable Mention and AVCTL First Team All-League with her recording 264 kills at 4.2 kills per set, a .393 kill percentage, and 117 digs. Her 4.2 kills per set ranked her sixth in Classes 4A, 5A, and 6A for kills per set. Also, her 4.2 kills per set ranks her in the top 10 in the state of Kansas in kills per set. Her junior year, she recorded 248 kills and was named Chisholm Trail League Honorable Mention.

Cowley Volleyball head coach Steven Gream states, "Laci is a great fit for Cowley College and for our program. She is a solid student-athlete who works hard to excel on and off the court. Laci comes to us from a strong volleyball program where she has learned the game on both sides of the ball. She provides a powerful and consistent attack and brings a great block to shut down opponents. Her skills will only improve as she gets acclimated to our offense and the college game."

Beougher also participated in club volleyball for the One VA volleyball club where she continued her training beyond her high school seasons and for college volleyball preparation. In 2020, she led her team to first place in the Keeper of the Plains Qualifier.

Beougher is the daughter of Timothy and Ronda Beougher of Benton, Kansas.
