Barto named KJCCC/Verizon Wireless Player of the Week

Sophomore Emily Barto was recently named the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference/Verizon Wireless Player of the Week as she helped the Cowley College volleyball team to a 3-0 week with wins over Jayhawk Conference opponent Allen County, and two NAIA schools; Oklahoma Baptist University and Friends JV.

In the match vs. Friends, Barto played middle attacker for her team, earning a total of 6 kills with 0 hitting errors. For sets two and three of the same match, Barto was moved into the setting position running a 5-1 for her team, averaging 14 assists per set. Her versatility has been a huge asset for the No. 1 ranked Lady Tigers.
