The victory helps the Lady Tigers remain tied with Johnson County for first place in the conference and region. Cowley, winners of 30 home matches in a row, is now 26-2 on the season.
"I felt we did well sticking to our game plan," Cowley head coach Jenifer Bahner said. "A conference win is always a big win no matter who it is against."
Martyna Gluchowicz led Cowley with 11 kills, while sophomore Danika Maggard added nine kills and eight digs. Freshman middle hitter Cathy Hafenstine also played well and finished with eight kills and three blocks.
"Cathy is a joy to coach and is really performing well right now," Bahner said. "She really seems to be getting more confidence in our system."
Molley Scanlon led Cowley with 37 assists, and Shanna Seyfarth and Emily Barto chipped in with 10 and nine digs, respectively.
Allen County is now 14-19 overall and 3-6 in the Jayhawk East.
Cowley, winners of 10 matches in a row, will host a triangular on Saturday. The Lady Tigers will face Friends University at noon and Oklahoma Baptist University at 4 p.m.
"We are excited to have these teams come to our place and play in front of our home fans," Bahner said. "We will use these matches to try to get better."
