Lady Tiger tennis shows toughness in matches in Oklahoma City

Despite having its entire team made up of freshman, the No. 10-ranked Cowley College women's tennis team did not back down against three ranked opponents they faced over the weekend in Oklahoma City, Okla.

The Lady Tigers got things started with a 7-2 win over 16th-ranked University of Arkansas at Fort Smith on Friday. Cowley then battled hard in a 7-2 loss to No. 3-ranked Tyler Junior College and a 6-3 defeat at the hands of No. 4-ranked Collin County Community College on Saturday.

"The women played pretty well, they fought hard against some really good teams," Cowley head coach Josh Cobble said.

Lady Tigers' Adrijana Pavlovic and Jessica Montemayor each went 3-0 in singles matches and 2-1 in doubles play.

"Those two did a really good job for us," Cobble said.

Cowley's match at Johnson County today has been postponed. The Tigers' home match Wednesday against Seward County will be played at the Whittier Elementary Tennis Courts in Winfield. The match will begin at 10:30 a.m.
