March 15, 2018
Known as a fearless defender for the Cowley College women's soccer team, sophomore Gemma Dunn recently signed a letter of intent to play next season at Hannibal-LaGrange University in Hannibal, MO.
Dunn, who came to Cowley from Andover, England, made 25 starts as a defender for the Lady Tiger soccer team over the past two seasons.
Ruy Vaz spent last season as an assistant coach for the Lady Tiger soccer team and enjoyed the opportunity to coach Dunn.
"Gemma is a true leader on and off the field," Vaz said. "She is a very resilient player that leads by example and I am really happy for her to have this opportunity ahead of her."
The health and physical education major is excited about her future at Hannibal-LaGrange, but will miss her time at Cowley.
"I love Cowley and wish it were a four-year school," Dunn said. "I wish we would have had a few more wins, but other than that I wouldn't change anything."
