Tiger wrestling team drops dual at No. 14-ranked Carl Albert State College
In a matchup of nationally ranked programs, the No. 7-ranked Cowley College wrestling team came up a bit short in a 28-20 dual loss at 14th-ranked Carl Albert State College on Thursday in Poteau, OK.
"This was not our best showing," Cowley head coach Justice Circle said. "We had a lot of adversity in many ways leading up to this dual, and things just didn't fall our way."
Cowley did not pick up a win until its match at 174 pounds, where Jaxon "Scout" Trotter defeated Carl Albert's Jory Garrett 11-6. The Tigers' other wins came in tech fall victories from David Sample (184 pounds) and Jason Osgood (197 pounds).
The Tiger wrestling team will travel to take part in the 918 Open on Saturday, December 13, in Broken Arrow, OK.
"We look to rewrite our wrong this weekend at the 918 open," Circle said.
