In its first dual of the season, the Cowley College wrestling team won six of nine matches in a 30-13 win at Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa on Sunday.
In its first dual of the season, the Cowley College wrestling team won six of nine matches in a 30-13 win at Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa on Sunday.
The Tigers' Jimmy Swenson (125 pounds), Jacen Jackson (165 pounds), and Keenan Smith (184 pounds) pinned their opponents, while Cameron Kiser (133 pounds), Evan Rodriguez (141 pounds), and Dylan Reed (149 pounds) were also victorious.
"We came out flat, but these are things we can fix," Cowley head coach Justice Circle said. "It was a great environment for both teams. Our fan base traveled very well, and we are thankful for that."
Cowley will next participate in the University of Nebraska-Kearney Open on Saturday at 8 a.m.
"We will get back on the horse and get ready for Kearney, Nebraska, this coming weekend," Circle said.

*125 pounds – Jimmy Swenson (CC) won by fall over Prince Jeffries (NOC).
*133 pounds – Cameron Kiser (CC) won a 9-3 decision over Jack Swenson (NOC).
*141 pounds – Evan Rodriguez (CC) won a 21-5 tech fall over Bo St. Clair (NOC).
*149 pounds – Dylan Reed (CC) won 16-7 over Waleed Khan (NOC).
*165 pounds – Jacen Jackson (CC) won by fall over Logan Ashford (NOC).
*174 pounds – Cesar Morales (CC) lost 20-10 against Tyler Gellings (NOC).
*184 pounds – Keenan Smith (CC) won by fall over Xavier Hurtt (NOC).
*197 pounds – Brannigan Reyes (CC) lost a 7-3 decision against Kanden Young (NOC).
*285 pounds – Jacob Acedo (CC) lost an 18-13 decision against Christian Clark (NOC).
