Getting wins from seven wrestlers at the NJCAA Division I Wrestling Championship held Friday and Saturday in Council Bluffs, IA, the Cowley College wrestling team placed 14th out of 49 teams.
The No. 24-ranked Cowley College wrestling team had a strong showing at the South Central Region Qualifier Saturday in Colby, KS, as they qualified all 10 wrestlers for the NJCAA National Championship in Council Bluffs, IA.
A small group of Cowley College wrestlers took part in the Missouri Valley College Open Saturday in Marshall, MO. The No. 24-ranked Tigers were led by freshman Beau Perez going 3-1 at the tournament.
Returning to the mat for the first time in nearly two months, the No. 13-ranked Cowley College wrestling team battled hard before suffering a 29-20 road loss to second-ranked Pratt Community College on Wednesday.
Placing 13th at last year’s national tournament, the Cowley College wrestling team is hoping for even bigger things as they prepare to open the 2021-2022 season. Cowley will open the season at the Friends University Invite November 6 in Wichita, KS.
