Jackson signs with NCAA Division II Midwestern State University
Making huge strides in her two years at Cowley College, women’s basketball player Mallory Jackson recently signed a letter of intent to continue her academic and playing career at NCAA Division II Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, TX.
After averaging 5 points and 2.8 rebounds as a freshman, Jackson averaged 10.4 points and 4.4 rebounds during the 2025-26 season. The sophomore from Edmond, OK, played her best basketball down the stretch, averaging 16.6 points and hitting 20 three-pointers over her final seven games. Jackson had hit only 24 three-pointers in the previous 24 games.
"Mallory is one of the most improved players we have had at Cowley in a long time," Cowley head coach Todd Clark said. "She was a joy to have around and developed ball handling and a three-point shot during her time with us."
Jackson, a Pre-Dental major, maintained an impressive 3.85 GPA. Along with basketball, Jackson was an active campus presence, serving as a Resident Assistant in Oscar Kimmell Dorm and as a student ambassador.
"I really enjoyed the community and how everyone at Cowley and in the community is there for you," Jackson said.
Jackson was one of only two sophomores on the Lady Tiger basketball team this past season and was looked upon as a leader.
"Cowley helped me improve as a person and be more outgoing," Jackson said. "The coaches were so supportive during my time at Cowley."
Midwestern State alumnus Drew Coffman was recently hired as head coach of the Mustangs. Coffman coached the Decatur girls' basketball team to back-to-back Class 4A state championships in each of the past two seasons.
"I am ready for the next level and excited about the opportunity," Jackson said.
