Arredondo leads the Lady Tiger softball team to wins over the Friends JV
Suzanne Kerr, who is in the Cowley College Athletic Hall of Fame, brought her Friends University JV team to Arkansas City on Friday to face the Lady Tiger softball team. The Tigers held on to win game one 12-8 before run-ruling the Falcons 11-0 in game two.

Sophomore transfer Ezra Arredondo, who started on the mound in game one, did not allow a run in her six innings pitched. Arredondo helped her cause at the plate by going 4-for-4 with two home runs, a triple, and a double.
Cowley (2-2) got the scoring started quickly in game one as Arredondo helped her cause at the plate by belting a solo home run in the bottom of the first inning. Sophomore Kanon Goji added a three-run triple in an eight-run first.
Sophomore first baseman Rae Sandlin added a solo home run in the bottom of the third inning. Two batters later, Arredondo hit her second homer of the contest to increase Cowley's lead to 10-0.
Arredondo left the game with Cowley leading 12-0 in the top of the fourth inning.
Aubrey Williams came on in relief of Arredondo and, walked six batters and allowed eight runs in the top of the fourth inning. Arredondo had to come back on in relief to record the final out of the fourth inning and then pitched the sixth and seventh to preserve the 12-8 victory.
In game two, Mikah Vann allowed just two hits in five scoreless innings. The sophomore struck out four and walked none as she improved her record to 1-1 on the season.
Leading 3-0 heading into the bottom of the fourth inning, the Lady Tigers erupted for eight runs. Cowley got home runs from Arredondo, Taverli Tennant, Krisyana Pellet, and Paige Scanlin.
Pellet went 3-for-3 with four runs batted in and was just a triple shy of hitting for the cycle.
Cowley will travel to Denison, TX, where they will play games on Friday and Saturday. Games on Friday will be played at 10 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. and the game on Saturday will start at 9 a.m.
