Athletes from Kansas and Oklahoma take part in the pole vault clinic at Cowley College
Having coached 29 junior college All-Americans, two national champions, and one national record holder, Cowley College vault coach Parker Ray conducted a pole vault clinic June 16-18 at the Mark A Phillips Track and Field Complex in Arkansas City. The clinic featured 13 athletes from across Kansas and Oklahoma.

The athletes at the clinic ranged in age from high school freshmen to college sophomores, along with a high school coach seeking a refresher on the event.
"The pole vault camp was a great success, with the largest turnout in recent years," Ray said. "The camp included athletes of all experience levels, and each participant showed noticeable growth and improvement over the three days of training. A special thank you to Coach Art Hop from Hutchinson Community College for coming out, assisting with the camp, and helping everything run smoothly."
Ray is already looking forward to growing the camp next year and continuing to support athletes in their development.
