Cowley men’s tennis team blasts Newman University 9-0
Facing NCAA Division II Newman University on Wednesday at the Riverside Tennis Courts in Wichita, KS, the No. 5-ranked Cowley College men’s tennis team did not lose a match in a 7-0 win over the Jets.
"We played really well and stayed focused from the beginning to the end," Cowley head coach Marcel Miasato said.
Cowley's doubles teams easily won the doubles point before winning all six singles matches.
"I am really happy the way that we won the doubles point, all three teams returned and served really well," Miasato said.
The Tigers' No. 1 doubles team of Haruki Okude and Dan Hosono won their second straight match, while the No. 2 doubles team of Luca Laurindo and Wojtek Biela won their third in a row.
Cowley will play its sixth straight match against NCAA competition when it takes on NCAA Division II Northwest Missouri State on Saturday at 2 p.m. in Maryville, MO.
