Ten Tiger soccer players parlay success to sign with four-year schools
The Cowley College men’s soccer program is proud to celebrate the transfer of 10 sophomores to four-year universities. This group has left a lasting legacy in Cowley soccer history, helping lead the program to two Plains District titles, two Region VI titles, two conference championships, and a national runner-up finish.
Over the past two seasons, the team recorded 32 wins with only four losses, scored 106 goals while conceding just 31, and finished among the top four teams in the nation in both years. Their success on the field has also opened doors for the next stage of their academic and athletic careers. Five players have committed to NCAA Division I programs, two to NCAA Division II institutions, and three to NAIA schools.
Fellow sophomore Hayata Kobayashi is undecided on his playing future, while Holden Schaefer and Dominic Leister have chosen to focus solely on academics.
"These guys will always hold a special place in my heart, as they were key pieces in my first season as a head coach and played an essential role in the success we achieved together," Cowley head coach Marcos Ribeiro said. "I am extremely grateful for their commitment, leadership, and belief in our program. I wish them nothing but success in the future, and I am confident they will continue to make a positive impact both on and off the field at their new schools."
