Lowry, Shaw earn conference honors
Posting a shutout in his first collegiate contest, Cowley College freshman goalkeeper Lukas Lowry helped lift the No. 4-ranked Tiger men’s soccer team to a 1-0 victory at No. 16-ranked Lewis & Clark. The performance garnered Lowry Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Men’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week honors, while Coffeyville’s Jacob Shaw was named the Player of the Week.
Lowry turned away two shots in the victory over Lewis & Clark after the Tigers took an early lead in the ninth minute. Lowry came to Cowley from Kansas City, KS.
Shaw led the Red Ravens to a 2-0 record last week, scoring three goals across two games to go along with one assist. For the week, Shaw placed four of his six shots on goal and converted his only penalty kick attempt.
