Just days after being named the Jayhawk West Co-Players of the Year, Cowley College forward Caique Trivelato and midfielder Takeru Moriyama were named NJCAA Division I Men's Soccer Second Team All-Americans.
Trivelato scored 20 goals and led the Tigers with 44 points on the season, while Moriyama tied for third on the team with five assists. The duo helped Cowley win a school-record 18 games, capture its second straight conference title, and win a game at the national tournament.
Cowley head coach Ruy Vaz, who is the only First Team and two-time All-American selection in the history of the Tiger soccer program, was proud to have Cowley represent the Jayhawk Conference with its only two All-American selections.
"Caique and Takeru are phenomenal players and deserving of this honor," Vaz said. "In my opinion, they should have been named First Team All-Americans."
Along with Vaz, Trivelato, and Moriyama, other Tiger All-Americans in the program's history are Joao Victor Camargos, Elluan Martins Gomes, and Jake Hawker.
