Former Tiger, Emarquis Jones, signs with James Madison University
Playing a valuable role on the 2024-2025 Cowley College men’s basketball team, which won 30 games for only the second time in the program’s history, Emarquis Jones recently signed a letter of intent to continue his athletic and academic career at NCAA Division I James Madison University.
Jones spent last season at NCAA Division II Goldey-Beacom College. He had a big junior season for the Lightning, averaging 13.5 points and 6.9 rebounds while shooting 51.6 percent from the floor. Jones posted 25 games in which he recorded double-digit points while helping Goldey-Beacom to a school-record 21 wins.
Jones spent the 2024-25 season with the Tigers, averaging 6.2 points and 4.0 rebounds per contest. Jones and the Tigers came within one point of advancing to the Final Four of the 2025 NJCAA Division 1 Men's Basketball National Tournament before losing to Trinity Valley 61-60.
