Cowley announces March and April Athletes of the Month

With the athletics season brought to an abrupt halt, Cowley College named its final Athletes of the Month for the spring semester.
The March Female Athlete of the Month is sophomore softball player Christian Wind, while the March Male Athlete of the Month is freshman tennis player Jack Clements.
As a freshman, Wind was named a First Team All-Conference and All-District selection as she batted .400 with seven home runs and 41 runs batted in. This season, in 22 games, the sports administration major was batting .292 with four home runs and 15 RBIs.
Clements, who played for the No. 5-ranked Tiger men's tennis team, was undefeated in No. 1 singles in the spring semester. The highly rated tennis player from Inverloch, Australia, is majoring in business administration.
The April co-Female Athlete of the Months are freshman basketball player Seanna Boltz and sophomore cheerleader Lydia Ashford. The April Male Athlete of the Month is sophomore track and field athlete Nathan Moxley.
Breaking the school record for three-pointers made in a season and finishing second nationally with 123 three-pointers, Boltz was named a Second Team All-Jayhawk Conference Eastern Division selection during the 2019-2020 season. She averaged 14.8 points per game while shooting 39 percent from three-point range and 80.6 percent from the free-throw line. The pre-nursing major has a 4.0 GPA.
Ashford was seen as a leader for the cheer team and always had a positive attitude. She helped the cheer team compete at nationals and was also a member of Phi Theta Kappa, was a Student Ambassador, and was a Homecoming Queen Candidate. The liberal arts major has a 4.0 GPA.
Moxley had a stellar indoor season for the Tiger track and field team as he was the conference and region champion in the pole vault. The pre-nursing major was equally as impressive in the classroom as he has achieved a 4.0 GPA.
