Cowley coed cheer team places first at nationals

The Cowley College coed cheer team recently had an opportunity to showcase its talent at the Cheer Ltd National Championship March 20-21 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
The team performed a 2:30 routine that incorporated stunts, tumbling, jumps, cheer and dance. Twenty three colleges from across the country competed in various divisions. Cowley placed first in the intermediate coed division. Third place went to Dodge City Community College, while second place was awarded to Iowa Central Community College.
The Cowley cheer team received a national championship trophy and banner. Each member received individual medals and champion jackets. The team is coached by Lindsay Sanderholm.
