Zagar named a Second Team Baseball All-American

As the ace of the Cowley College baseball team’s pitching rotation, freshman Kyler Zagar was recently named a Second Team NJCAA Division I All-American.

Zagar, the Freshman of the Year in the Jayhawk Conference Eastern Division, was among only two freshmen named a Second Team All-American. The lefthander led the Tigers in several pitching categories as he went 10-1 with a 2.77 earned run average. He struck out 73 and walked 17 in a team-high 65 innings pitched.

"This is a great accomplishment for Kyler and is a tribute to his hard work and passion to do well," Cowley head baseball coach Darren Burroughs said.

With Zagar anchoring the pitching staff, Cowley finished the 2025 season with a record of 45-12 and was ranked No. 8 in the final regular-season poll.
