Cowley (31-7) remains in a tie for first place with Johnson County in the Jayhawk East with a record of 20-4.
In Saturday's opener, Cade Baldridge led off the game with a home run, while Weston Thomas and Dawson Williams also homered in a four-run first inning.
"It was good for us to jump on them early," Cowley head coach Darren Burroughs said. "It was a tough day to pitch, but our guys did a good job of throwing strikes and did not let up."
Dax McCaskill, who missed the Fort Scott series due to injury, returned with a vengeance, homering twice and driving in six runs in the 23-3 victory. Logan Smith also homered, while Drake Fittro went 4-for-5 with Cowley's seventh home run of the game.
Eleven of Cowley's 23 hits in game one went for extra bases.
Tallen Bagwell allowed one earned run in four innings pitched, improving his record to 5-1. Mitchell Johnson pitched the final three innings and had three strikeouts.
Leading Saturday's finale 7-3, Cowley scored 15 runs in the top of the fourth inning and went on to the 28-4 win.
McCaskill hit his team-leading 11th home run in the victory, while Logan Smith went 3-for-6 with two home runs and eight runs batted in. Freshman Creed Muirhead added his second home run of the season, and Cowley had as many hits as walks in game two (17).
Keegan Robertson (3-1) struck out five and allowed six hits and three runs in three innings pitched, while Lucas Weaver, Jack Hamm, Blake DeLong, and Barrett Morgan combined to allow only two hits and one run in four innings of relief.
Cowley will play a nine-inning game at No. 24-ranked Barton Community College on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Great Bend, KS. The Cougars (31-8) are running away with the Jayhawk West.
"Barton should provide us with a good matchup," Burroughs said. "We hope to get better and win a game."
