High school students take part in baseball showcase

With an opportunity for high school students to display their abilities in front of invited scouts and college coaches, the Cowley College Baseball Showcase was held Sunday, October 7 at the Tiger Baseball Field in Arkansas City.
A total of 48 high school baseball players took part in the showcase which included a professional style format. The athletes ran a timed 60, worked on outfield and infield defensive situations, catcher pop times, pitcher bullpens, and conducted batting practice.
As a bonus to the athletes, participants were invited to play in a controlled scrimmage at the conclusion of the showcase. The athletes had the opportunity to further showcase their abilities in a live game setting.
