Blitz Drive receives pledges for more than $77,000
Raising money for Tiger Booster Club Scholarships and to support Cowley College athletic programs, Cowley College coaches, employees, and members of the community took to the streets for the school's annual Blitz Drive on Tuesday, July 29, and eclipsed $77,225 in pledges with additional funds still trickling in. The Tiger Booster Club is optimistic about surpassing $80,000 in donations.
According to Cowley College athletic director Jeff Fluty, the Tiger Athletic Department plans to reach out over the next few weeks to individuals they could not connect with on July 29.
During the past year, Tiger athletic teams combined for 13 national tournament appearances. In addition, several Tiger athletes were named to the 2024-2025 All-Academic teams.
The Tiger Booster Club has seven membership levels ranging from $150 to $5,000. TBC members are admitted free to all Tiger sporting events. Anyone interested in becoming a Tiger Booster Club member can contact the Cowley Athletic Department at 620-441-5268.
"Raising scholarship funds through the Tiger Booster Club for student-athletes has always been a priority in the athletic department," Fluty said. "The strong Tiger athletic connection within the Ark City community is a force of pride that provides a unique home-field advantage. This year's support from boosters, fans, employees, residents of Cowley County, and the surrounding areas has been outstanding and much appreciated. The support and generosity go a long way to ensuring student-athlete success. A big thank you to all, and Go Tigers!"
